  The Indian Constitution is the supreme law of India. It was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of India on 26th November 1949 and came into effect on 26th January 1950. It is the longest written Constitution in the world with 448 articles, 12 schedules, and 97 amendments. The Indian Constitution is based on the principles of democracy, secularism, socialism, and federalism. It guarantees fundamental rights to every citizen and ensures the protection of their interests. The Constitution establishes a government with a parliamentary system and provides for the separation of powers among the judiciary, executive, and legislative branches.
